What is age?

What is age? Age is nothing but a number . A number that means nothing to anyone but  adults. We live in a world where adults don't want teenagers to act like “children” but like adults. When we act like children we get punished for not being mature enough. When we begin to act like adults,  so- called “ grown Ups” think we’re growing up too fast. Being a “ child” in this century sucks! Most of us don't want to act like adults. And so we become victims of the world. Why is life so hard for us? Well i'm not really sure, but most teenagers think it’s due to peer-pressure and an abundance of responsibility put on us. We live the life adults wouldn't even dream of having, the life where everything you do is wrong and you can never get it right.

Age is one of those topics that you can understand more when you are younger, as you  face adults criticizing you about your age all the time. This topic is something I deal with on a day- to -day basis. Being 15  in a world where everyone wants you to be 20  is really hard. This world is so confusing that  us “kids” don't  know what to do but retaliate. By Doing things like drugs and drinking. This is why I think the “Adults” should give people our age more of a choice about what we want to do and be. They might think we’re making the wrong decision but not giving us the chance to make the decision is the wrong decision. The chance to take a chance at life, things we want to do to please ourselves and not others.

Why can't we be our own people? If teenagers were their own people things in this world would be so much different. We would know how to control things, things adults can't even take control of. We could  create a new nation where everyone would be equal. There wouldn't be labels  separating us humans. The right to vote, drink, being allowed in a club can set many things apart. This important and social related problems make people feel very different in not all the time good ways. Although  we teenagers might not be ready for bills and children, we should have the right to speak freely and express ourselves.

  1. Sounds like pressure and alot of responsibility is what's stressing us out to make the wrong choices. Sounds legit, I agree.
